Quick checklist when breastfeeding isn't going smoothly.
Lips should be flanged outward like a fish. You should hear swallowing, not clicking.
A different position can completely change the latch quality.
Pain that makes you dread feeding is a sign something needs to change.
Some weight loss in the first few days is normal, but baby should regain birth weight by 2 weeks.
Frequent feeding is normal and helps establish supply.
Cluster feeding does not mean you don't have enough milk.
Supplementing does not mean failure - fed is best.
