0 of 10
0%
Arrange childcare and do a trial run
If pumping: get pump supplies, bags, cooler, and find a pump room
Practice the morning routine before your first day
Prep bottles and daycare bag the night before
Set up your pump schedule to match baby's feeding times
Know your legal rights (pump breaks, lactation space)
Talk to your manager about transition flexibility if possible
Have a backup plan for sick days
Give yourself grace - the first week is the hardest
It's okay to cry on the first day. Most parents do.
Tips
The anticipation is almost always worse than the reality.
Your baby will be fine. You will be fine. It just takes time.
Going back to work does not make you a bad parent. Staying home does not make you a better one. Both are valid.
